-daycare is still fun but insane right now because i think all the kids realize that christmas is next week.
quote of the week from a 3 year old:
"Can I smell your rice cakes?"
- done my first semester of grad school & enjoying a nice break from homework til mid january. starting out with a 4.0 woohoo!

Congrats!
Another congratulations to Shmelly & CJ! The wedding was a blast. And now I'm trying to get homework done since I accomplished absolutely nothing over the weekend. Back to the kidlets tomorrow, but then off again on Friday. I'm heading to Boston with Jen & Mike to visit Aud, Kevin, & Nikki. Woohoo! A Halloween party, and hopefully a trip to Fenway & the Sam Adams brewery. Wedding pics are on my facebook, and even a disclaimer for the one where I look really really hammered.

goodnight
so yea the paper writing did officially end there on friday night. ten minutes after i logged off, i got a phone call and met my other set of parents at the all star. i also met my long lost brother:) needless to say, i was not crisp and raring to go for shmelly's bachelorette party. i did however get my second wind after dinner that night. thank you red bull & vodka.
and i'd like to give a shout out to general mills for making those sweet little cereal bowls where all you have to do is add milk. thanks to one of them and a 16oz wawa coffee, i was able to bust out 4 pages of this paper tonight on campus. i've decided that i will do the minimum 6 pager. i meant to write the last 2 pages when i got to the house here, but damn facebook got the best of me.
and good news. my little buddy's nose is ok. just a bruise. and our turkish twins get funnier every day. k-man dances now. we rocked out to some wiggles and jack johnson today.

homework and a beer
It's Friday night and I'm working on an 8 page paper that's due next Thursday. So far I have one paragraph done. I decided to treat myself to a beer. Tonight I'm drinking Stone IPA, straight from Escondido, California. Just found out from Andy tonight that Paul & Anita visited the brewery while in SD a couple weeks ago. I will insert a jealous grrrrr here. So yeah I like a cold beer while writing a paper. Not sure how much more writing will be done tonight though because I am officially stumped. Maybe its this new Gwynedd Mercy "APA" format. Or maybe its the fact that its been 4.5 years since I've written a paper. Or maybe smoking pot back in the day made it easier. I don't know but I am freakin confused. I actually called the Academic Resource Center to make an appointment to get help with it this week. I think that means the paper writing part of the night is over. I may go downstairs and bike. I should probably get a good night sleep though since tomorrow is Shmelly's Bachelorette Bash. I'm tired from work and glad to have two days off. But my little bud whacked his nose against one of the playground pieces this afternoon. I feel responsible since we were playing hide & seek and it was MY idea. He seemed pretty over it though once I busted out the NEMO ice pack. Gotta love hide & seek though with two year olds. They were in this little herd running all over the playground yelling, "DEBBIE, DEBBIE". I feel like a hero. I'm gonna go now because I just got the Doogie Howser theme in my head.

ouch my head hurts
In an attempt to successfully celebrate Mikey Trout's 40th birthday last night, I think I actually may have drank 40 beers. Not really but thats the way my head feels right now. I think its just the fact that it was Dogfish Head Pumpkin Ale. Mmmm....pumpkin ale. I'm gonna have to wait on planting the mums because I may actually die if I go out in that heat right now.
It's homework time.
Quote of the week from a three year old after using the potty:
"A pooper came out of my buttski"
Hahaha..I couldn't make this shit up if I tried!

it's been awhile
well whadda ya know....i actually remembered my password to get on here. its been awhile. uh, maybe due to the fact that i havent felt good & this past week i was diagnosed with strep throat...for the SECOND time this summer. the little kidlets just keep the colds coming. there has been some good conversation with them recently. we even started a quote board & made our own version of "toddlers say the funniest things". for example, last week while on the potty, one little girl managed to get a terd on the floor. i couldn't help but laugh and i said, "how did that get on the floor". as she pulled up her shorts and shrugged her shoulders she replied, "it happens deb". ah, thats my 3 year old. already knows that shit happens. later that day, one boy was so excited he decided to announce to the class, "hey guys, i think i'm poopin!". i will be well prepared for andy's twin nephews and my future niece or nephew.
nothin else too crazy to report. went back to school shopping today. weird. all i bought was a notebook. yes, i'm that person who uses one notebook for everything. never was a fan of organization. i'll do better though this time around for "D equals diploma" is no longer my motto. i'm excited for classes, just wishing it wouldn't take two years.
spent yesterday drinking Dogfish Head with good friends. ahhh....dogfish head.

my future niece or nephew
cute, huh?
here's the info from Jen:
The first picture is definitely the clearest. The head is to the left, feet to the right. There's a white spot towards the middle.. she said that it's most likely the mouth, and those are probably hand buds right in front of it. The arms and legs were really moving around a lot, it looked like it was doing somersaults! In the last picture, you can see the white "mouth" again. The tech said that the baby's smiling (she did admit that she may be stretching it a little, but it's fun to think). Heart rate was strong.. 160!

I went for a bike ride today
I was taught a month ago,
To bide my time & take it slow
But then I learned just yesterday,
to rush & never waste the day
Now I'm convinced the whole day long,
That all I learn is always wrong
& things are true that I forget,
But no one taught that to me yet
-Phish
now i'm downloading music...teaching the kiddies the "hokey pokey" tomorrow

i have a hangover
yes thats right. don't celebrate the end of a long week with beer that's 7% alcohol. what happens? your elbow goes through your boyfriend's wall as you pass out cold and drop to the floor. nothing a little bit of gatorade and an orange drink from mcdonalds cant fix. on a good note, i'm getting feeling back in my elbow and i passed the Praxis 1 test yesterday.
tomorrow is monday. looking forward to seeing my little man. the near 2 year old whose face lights up when he sees me in the morning, and runs over to give me a hug. he keeps me going when the day gets tough. also looking forward to an outdoors night with andy after work. since i felt like death today, we had to reschedule the frisbee golf/walk.

3 months
Today is my 3 month anniversary of no cigarettes. woohoo.
Recent Highlights:
- thanks to Mucinex, the sinus infection is nearly gone
- Andy & I spotted the bald eagle at the bird sanctuary Monday night
- I got into my first 2 classes at Gwynedd Mercy for the fall. (holy shit i'm going back to school)
The kidlets are keeping me busy. I'm freakin exhausted. And annoyed with stuff outside of work so its time for a run, and then bed.

I'm Already Sick
Tomorrow will be the first day of week three, and I already have a sore throat. That's what you get for serving as a human sneeze guard. It's all good though because they crack me up. I will admit I'm so tired, that sometimes I actually have to close my blinds when I go to bed because the sun is still out.
On Friday we made cupcakes with 24 toddlers for our Mother's Day party. That was interesting. I'm still having flashbacks. Currently, these are my two favorite quotes from the kids I can understand:
"Mommy rode the donkey last night".
(maybe mom & dad should spring for sound proof walls?)
"The duck is at home because he's eating pasta carbonara".
(the response when I asked a group of them where the ducks went. I have a feeling that kid eats good)
But so far my all time favorite is watching them dance. I never knew two year olds had such rhythm.

Day 3
Well... I survived day three. I kinda feel like one of those sneeze guards at a salad bar. They cough, sneeze, and drool on me all day. My hands are cracked from washing them so much. And I still have the song "Hot Potato" stuck in my head from 3:30 this afternoon. Seriously though, I'm having a blast. Today was my first full day in the room. I won't lie, I did have to go to Wawa on my lunch break for a 24oz coffee to hold me over. But for the second straight day I laughed when I got home and emptied sand out of my sneakers. The kids are amazing & its a great feeling when one brings you a book to read, and before you know it there are two on your lap and the rest act like they can't get close enough. And come on,,,who else gets snack & recess at age 26?
What I learned today: When painting with two year olds, don't wear your favorite jeans.

the end of an era
My time at Safeguard is done. It felt like I was leaving high school again. The weather was nice & I couldn't wait to get the hell out, but as soon as I started saying goodbye, that's when the tears started flowing. I'll miss my second family more than I ever would have imagined when I started in August '05.
I just got home from Andy's, cleaned out my car, and drank a beer. Now I'm going to bed to dream of a life without plate requests & prod pickups. As of Monday, I get recess again.
Now I shall post an example of a proper Safeguard sendoff from Bill & Kevin. Yes, there's a Honda CRV somewhere under that tarp.

Stay tuned...
I don't actually start the new gig until April 28th, but in case you haven't noticed, I'm rather excited about it. I figure I'll get this whole blog thing rolling by saying that I had to go for a
pre-employment physical yesterday, and now thanks to the tetanus shot, my left arm is throbbing.
I'm going to go for a lunch time walk now. Then I'm going to sit at my almost empty desk, do the out of stock report, and eat a lollipop while I try to think of some more clever things to write here.
And Nikki,,,thank you for the blog suggestion. I'm looking forward to sharing my stories.
